Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

It is on a rotation basis where you move roles over the 3 years. My role involves responsibilities from daily tracking of premium and claims volumes, forecasting and planning cancellations and the impact on the Profit and Loss sheet to ad hoc tasks. I have had the opportunity to lead on projects from the start.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my experience so far. My team are very supportive which has positively impacted my learning journey. It has also helps to have dedicated study time weekly. It good to have the opportunity to move around offices, meet different people and broaden my knowledge. There's a great grad community.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During my time here I have built on some skills that I already had such as Excel and SAP. However, I have also had training to use new programs. Beside the hard skills, there are also programs such as a DIscovery Insight day to learn about how you work within teams.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program is becoming more structured. There is a general overview of what roles are available, different offices where you could be based of travel to visit and the study program. There are structured lectures and a skills coach to help with study but also a mentor within another part of the business to help with work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I feel like I get adequate support from the employer. My team are great at talking through tasks with me, giving me time to attempt it myself but always there to answer ad hoc questions or put in meetings to go through in more detail. I've also been provided with a mentor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There are weekly study hours provided by the employer dedicated to your study text/ lectures/ past exam questions. You are assigned a skills coach who is very responsive to any questions and helped to tailor the modules to the skills you already have for example if you already have exemptions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There have been some modules that I have covered in my training which is transferable to my everyday role. It has made it easier to see how what I learn in a text book is used in the real world. My team take time with me to discuss what I'm learning and join the links to the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The business encourages you to take a couple of days as volunteering days each year. This generally involves working with a team you make yourself or meeting people with similar interests. There are also finance events throughout the year, recognition and award ceremonies and graduate and apprentice social events alongside socials planned yourself.

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?

Why?
They provide a very welcoming environment. People are happy to help regardless of whether they directly work with you or not. There are a lot of opportunities for people to internally move around the business and find the role that suits them best and broaden their knowledge. The offices promote a hybrid working environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
One of the biggest bits of advice is to come and be yourself and not try to 'fit' in. The workplace is very diverse and welcoming making it less stressful to transition into the new company. When preparing for the interview try to pick topics that will make you stand out but read a lot of background information to back up your hypothesis.
