Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role includes running the online operation in my store while working delivery when it comes in store. Sometimes i will run the shift as a team leader if there isnt a manger available. I will also sort through and do reductions and look for products that are no longer good for sale.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy the program. Having done a apprenticeship before, i kew what it was all about. My circumstances have changes this time round which means it may take me longer to get things finished or making more time for it but i am still enjoying it, having the chance to learn new things.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I feel every day i am developing my skills that i have already learnt and also I am learning new things every day. This could be me asking to learn something new or i have the opportunity to be asked if i want to learn something new. Doing these apprenticeships, i feel have helped me develop skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I feel the program is well organised. I used the old system last time so using the new system is still strange and it is taking time to get use to it but i think with time i will do, it always takes time to learn something new and get use to it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I feel i receive support from my manager when i ask for it but if i don't ask then i don't get support. I feel it needs to be more talked about in store and birth me and manager to be on board where i am with it and what i need to continue.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I feel like i receive support from my provider with the person that is assigned to me but since starting my first apprenticeship, i am on my 3rd person now which i understand why as people move on but just as i get use to someone, they change. It shouldn't interrupt my learning though.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel it helps me alot. since starting, i feel like my confidence has grown so much. I returned to the company after maternity leave during covid, i didn't have a great return to work so i was really struggling and it was then that i decided i wanted ti take on the apprenticeship and it was the best decision ever.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We do have loads of charity events that take place over the year which we can take place in. We can arrange to do something outside of work with our colleagues and we have the change to gain money for our social fund which we can then use to do stuff.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Iceland Frozen Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great place to work, every work place has it's ups and downs and this can happen everywhere. As a store, we can have great days but also bad days but i would never say it was a bad place to work. There are opportunities to progress in roles here and i feel you don't get this much in other places i have worked.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland Frozen Foods?
I would say that you should explain to the company that you may not have the experience but you can offer so much, willing to learn and to also ask questions about things e.g progressing in roles if that is what you want to do, this way you will know what is expected of you when you start but what you could also work towards.
