Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Mostly assists analysts in their job. If we get the offer we will become analysts so we have a chance to get familiarized with their job. We got to work in marketing materials and even live deals. Mostly worked with power point but also got to work with multiples and models as the internship went along. As the experience was virtual we had daily interactions with our closest colleagues and if involved in bigger teams we also got to participate in all meetings.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
At first I was given what I would consider the correct amount of responsibility for an intern. However, as I did my job correctly they increased the responsibilities accordingly. What made my experience much better as it challenged me even more and I got to really take advantage of my time there.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Firstly, technological skills. Use of power point improved tremendously even after 6 weeks, and learnt the use of new tools as pres builder, or even factset add ins for ppt and excel. Got access to new tools and sites of information I did not know about and they also help you use them in the case you have not before. Additionally, you develop your soft skills, meeting the whole team is encouraged, people are interested in helping you and getting to know you.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Simply a lot. I was assigned a buddy inside my team who really helped me with everything. We had daily calls in which we discussed not only professional matters but also cared about how was I feeling about the whole experience. Additionally, everyone I asked for help helped me without an issue, really supportive team.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It was really good. To be honest one may be quite scared when going into IB from the things you heard from the outside but that was not the scenario I faced at all. Everyone was supportive, open and down to help whenever I needed it.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
You have to know what you are getting into if you want to go into IB. Unfortunately long hours and working some weekends are part of the equation. So although that may not be the most enjoyable is kind of expected. Leaving that behind, I really enjoyed my experience. The people I worked with were the best, and I believe that is what made the internship as good as it was.

Show you are proactive, eager to learn and accept your mistakes and learn from them. Truly, as an intern nobody is expecting you to know everything so just take the chance to learn and show you are truly interested.
