Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I was solely based on Audit engagements. This means that my job day to day was taking samples and testing them on whether they were true to the financial statement assertions presented by the client. I became very skilled in excel and got to see a lot of different aspects of a businness.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme. For me personally its a great way to combine text book studying and hands on practical work. this programme offers three placements split over four years and so provides a nice break between studying at university and working in the city. for me this programme offers the perfect mix

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've become very skilled in using excel. I've also been able to advance my accounting knowledge a lot more than I would if I were just reading out of a textbook. I can now make good working relationships in a way that i would not have been comfortable doing before.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think they are fairly well organised but I think like all systems that depend on people, some things can slip through the cracks at times which of course is understandable because everyone is working and very busy but there is still an element of disorganisation among the staff.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I think it really varies on the manager assigned to you. On all of my projects I had a manager that was willing to help me and guide me wherever he could but i do know other people on my programme that haven't had quite the same experience but on the whole you can tell everyone tries their best.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
the university helps us a lot work towards our degree but when at work they are mainly just concerned with making sure you get the work done.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
the studying we did in first year definitely helps a lot when working
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
there are so many socials, meals, drinks, networks, extracurriculars and groups that you can get involved in
