Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working on the audit team on a variety of clients and executing EGAs to help determine whether the company's financial documents are true and fair.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy how I get to learn at uni whilst gaining a uni experience and degree and then have the opportunity to apply my learning to see how it is actually relevant

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've learnt a lot of excel skills and a greater understanding of the audit process.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well structured as the first year is entirely at uni helping you to settle in to uni life. Additionally all 3 of our placements are at the same office helping to form professional connections with your work colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
We received online training for the first two weeks and then also got allocated more online training to complete whilst on placement. We also received on the job training and was allocated a career coach.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
In terms of support from Nottingham university there is loads they reach out whilst on placement to see how we are and are always provided with advise whilst at uni and on placement. I haven't really had much contact with ICAEW but I wouldn't expect to either.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel the content we learn at uni is relevant to placement as it gives you an understanding of finance in general and also an in depth learning of audit/assurance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in at PwC some are clubs and some are more team bonding events/evenings.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Everyone there is so friendly and there is a really good culture/ positive atmoshphere.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
The application process is quite hard for the flying start degree but given the foundations it sets you up with e.g. the amount of exemptions it gives you from exams that are usually required after uni - it is well worth it.
