Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As port of the Consumer Risk Finance & Treasury Team, I developed a user interface using HTML, CSS, Flask and Bash to facilitate and automate the configuration of the working environment of the Machine Learning Team.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was responsible to develop a user interface and to deliver it before the end of my 8-week internship so I had master the different programming languages. Moreover at the end of the internship I was invited to showcase my work in front of 200 colleagues and managers.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I enlarged my knowledge in finance through different conferences/events organised throughout the internship. I also strongly improved my technical skills especially in Python/Flask where I had to develop a user interface within ~5 weeks.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My colleagues and managers were very supportive, I worked fully remotely and I encountered a lot of different tech issues at the beginning of the internship but I always felt comfortable with that thanks to them.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

It was undoubtedly my most enriching and intensive experience. My main project was really challenging and there were a lot of different events organised throughout the internship. Moreover meeting a lot of Summer Interns coming from around the world was really enriching.
