Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My day was 7.5 hours. I work within a team of around 5 but the members differ every two weeks. I would ask for a task from my manager or the other people in the team and wait till I was given something to do. Usually I'd be copying and pasting within documents or filling out information based on client given documents.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the actual work we carry out just because I like doing the same thing over and over again. Everyone in PWC offices are friendly and nice to work with. The company is also very lovely to work with however I feel like I felt quite lost at times within the team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
I have developed my organisational skills as I am building on what I learnt in my previous placement however I wouldn't say I've been given a lot of responsibility si my confidence and skill set has probably not improved as much as I would have wanted it to.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme itself is structured very well in my opinion. It seems like there is always an answer for any questions I have asked the programme convenors. My only criticism is I wish managers were more educate don what the programme is when we join their team so they can know our level.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have received a lot of support. It is extremely rare that I have asked for help from those above me and not received it. They all support me and are happy to which makes asking for support that much easier than I have experienced with other employers. I am very satisfied.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Training sessions whether in video form, game form or interactive sessions with actual leaders have always been helpful. The videos and games are very clearly put together and easy to go through. The live sessions are also helpful and leaders are always cheerful and happy to explain points further with us.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
This is a hard one as I am still in the beginning of my qualification. I have seen bits of what I have been learning currently at university in my work and this reassures me in my understanding of certain concepts and accounting principles such as Financial statement layout and format.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are quite a few social activities however I was never personally invited to any. I know that there have been ice skating socials and visits to pubs however I did not take part in these. I have heard positive stories about these socials from friends who are also doing the placement.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe the company looks after employees well. They take into account aspects of our mental health as well as physical health . The environment is lovely and the flexible working is very appealing to many people. The pay is also good for trainees but I'm not sure about regular staff
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be genuine in interviews and let your personality come through. Make sure you are confident in what you know and let that show also. Make sure you focus on your time management and organisational skills so you do not become overwhelmed in what I would say is quite a busy environment.
