During the Pinsent Masons Work Experience Programme 2022 I was able to participate in many different activities. These activities included many speakers from different sections of law explaining what their section is about, working in groups to communicate and come up with answers to allow mock debates and trials and independent work with leases and act documents.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?

I thoroughly enjoyed the Pinsent Masons Work Experience Programme 2022 as it reassured me that I do still want to choose a career in law. The programme was very helpful and insightful. It also allowed an in depth experience of what it is like to work as a lawyer and working in a law firm.
How well organised was your work experience?

The Pinsent Masons Work Experience Programme was very well organised. The Pinsent Masons team were very helpful and replied to and answered any questions I had. The programme itself was run very smoothly with no problems, from what I saw, at all and all the tasks and speakers on the programme was very relevant to the subject so overall very well organised.
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?

The Pinsent Masons Work Experience Programme was very helpful in reassuring me that law is the career path that I want to go down in the future and how law seems the right job for me. When going through the different sectors of law and what you can specialise in at Pinsent Masons has also helped me think more about what I would like to specialise in.
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?

The Pinsent Masons Work Experience Programme did not pay me to participate but I knew that I wasn't going to be paid going into this so this is not a problem. I was participating for my own experience and not for the money or any kind of profit at all.
Skills Development
What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?

I learnt many skills while taking part in this programme, weather they were new skills or developing previous skills. These skills included communication while working with others and talking to supervisors throughout the programme, writing and reading skills developed while doing individual work with documents and also with the documents, my problem solving skills improved.
Company Culture
How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?

I learnt a lot about the company of Pinsent Masons such as how it would be like to work there through their trainee speakers and even how to get a placement as a trainee there which may come in very helpful in the future. The tasks given were also realistic of what I would expect the work to be like within the law firm.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?

During the Pinsent Masons Work Experience Programme there was an opportunity for networking and meeting other participants on the programme. These opportunities mainly happened during a lunch sessions where while having your lunch you can talk to and meet others. Also had this opportunity during chats with my supervisor and other small group tasks.

I would recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend as taking part in their Work Experience Programme has been very helpful and insightful. I would recommend them to anyone who may be unsure about a career in law as the programme, and any other resources they offer, has been very informative.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons LLP?
Tips that I would give to others applying to Pinsent Masons would be to show that you do have an interest in a career in law and that you are willing to participate in their programmes so that you can get the best experience you can get out of the programme.
