Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in a high school science department. I set up practical work, assist in the classroom when practical work is happening, prepare reagents, carry out risk assessments and keep documentation up to date.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working in a school and am lucky to be part of a great department. However, the apprenticeship was not enjoyable at all, the 'lectures' consisted of a powerpoint being read line by line to me over video call and assignments were often not applicable to my workplace.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Most of the skills learnt have been due to the school I am based in as the apprenticeship content is not very closely linked to the work I do on a day to day basis.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was well structured but not communicated very well. The expectations were not set out in the beginning and towards the end of the apprenticeship delivery was crammed in, as well as a lack of preparation for assessment.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Let Me Play were very unhelpful. Emails would often not be replied to within a week, if at all. My tutor was very unclear with expectations and often wouldn't be able to answer my questions, as well as taking weeks to review my work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I did not receive any support from the training provider. All information I had to find out on my own as the documents I was given contained no information that was helpful for me completing my apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The actual apprenticeship has not given me any skills or knowledge to perform my role better, a lot was covered in mandatory staff training at the school, or not relevant to my role. The embedded qualification, however, was relevant and gave me knowledge on theory, helping to troubleshoot.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Extra curricular activities that I can attend are provided by the school and not LMP. There are social events at the end of each term and there are staff sports events to join as well.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend LMP Education to a friend?
No
Why?
The delivery was inconsistent, goalposts were constantly changing and a lot of work that I had completed (and was marked at a pass level) later couldn't be used.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LMP Education?
Make sure that your tutor is very clear with you about the work that needs to be completed for your portfolio. The documents to prepare for your end point assessment would be handy to have at the beginning so you know exactly what you're working towards.
