Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:

It was a 4 day long virtual work experience, that involved online calls where you would listen to various speakers or complete different group or individual tasks. We were spoken to by various trainee solicitors and those within the legal profession outside Pinsent Masons, in order to gain useful insight.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?

I would 100% recommend this work experience, the week was such a valuable experience and i gained so many useful skills that i can apply once i begin with progressing my career. I was also able to gain insight into the firm and the application process and how to stand out.
How well organised was your work experience?

It was extremely well organised, the forage platform they used meant i could access all the tasks and sessions i needed to join or work on, and have a clear understanding on what the week would o=involve. The student help email was also very helpful and understanding. Pinsents excellent organisation is what made the work experience run so smoothly and what allowed me to get the most out of it as possible.
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?

It helped me know that the legal route is something i definitely want to purse un the future.

What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?

The experience allowed me to improve my public speaking and teamwork skills in a virtual setting, as well as helped me learn how to think critically and present my ideas clearly in both a written and verbal format.
Company Culture
How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?

I learnt lots on the companys culture and what it is like to work there through various solicitors, as well as know what Pinsent look out for specifically and what there values are for their workers.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?

There were several sessions to ask questions to those who work within the firm and those within the legal industry outside of Pinsent. As well as dedicated networking lunches.

There overall company values is what made me enjoy the experience so much, they genuinely care for their employees and the people that get accepted into their work experience. It was also such a valuable experience that if i could do it again myself then i would.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons LLP?
Make sure you express your genuine reasons for wanting to take part in the experience, show how you have got more interested in the Law.
