Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The role is to actively drive the delivery of implementations activities of L&D programmes. Day to Day this would consist of monitoring participant engagement and queries, ensuring to deliver a programme in line with business needs. Liaising with different teams to be able to deliver the event. Additionally generating and evaluating reporting each week to align with our targets as a team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed being on placement, the experience and opportunities that arise from it are second to none. Being submerged into a whole new environment, really changes your perspective and view on life. I feel so grateful to have done this before going into a graduate role as I feel so much more confident in my ability within the environment I will be entering.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have definitely learnt and developed my skillset in this role. The ones that have particularly stuck out ot me are; effective communication, team-work, problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills. I think these were the most targeted in my position at the firm, and I can see a exponential change in my response to situations which I would pin to this experience. Other skills developed have been; creativity, adaptability, time and stress management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The placement was incredibly structured, not once did I feel out of place or left to my own devices. I was always given an agenda and driven to reach out for more opportunities and shown where to find them. The onboarding process is super smooth and comforting with there being multiple people to turn to and to help you in the process.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
More than enough support is offered. I was introduced to at least 5 people in my first week that all made it a point to make me feel comfortable and offer any support when needed. This is both personally; making sure I was settling in and was not feeling overwhelmed and professionally; ensuring I understood the tasks at hand and was comfortable asking any questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I feel the support given was sufficient, the few month in check-in was nice and made me feel there was somewhere to go if I felt uneasy about the placement. It was enough support to still feel independant and fully emerge yourself into an experience rather than feeling like it was only temporary.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think there's only a couple of ways it enhanced my performance. Firstly, it definitely helped with my written communication, knowing how to handle yourself and correspond in a professional manor is so important and helps you feel more comfortable. Secondly, I think having that eagerness to learn really helped me, I wanted to push myself to be the best I could be which stems from my academic background.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are a number of different groups and communities you can join in the firm. I'd say there was more communities for social activities/ networking events than there is sports but it is still available. Most likely the social activities will come from your base office so you will be able to meet people you will be working closer to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Its an overall great company to work for. The firm really prides itself in its values and sense of community which is something that drove me to apply and they definitely did not disappoint. It has exceeded my expectations 100% and I would love to be employed there once I finish my degree.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Prepare in advance for anything you have to do for your interview process, but think outside the box for knowledge that you could bring to the table. Practice questions and do mock interviews to build up your own confidence. Other than that just be true to yourself and try your best!
