Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is to maintain the site, internally and externally and ensure everything is operationally sound and safe to use. I'm required to have a knowledge of all trades and perform reactive and planned maintenance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme as I am always keen to learn new things and develop myself positively. It would be nice to be able to use these new skills and theories day to day and have a bigger team to be able to do so.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes since starting in the maintenance department I have learnt everything I need to know, in terms of trade skills, fire safety and first aid. I have also been enrolled to develop new and existing skills in management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very organised and structured, Will is excellent at putting across the relevant information and guiding us through the course and the online platforms.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I haven't asked for much support so far, but my employer gives me the time to take part in the course, and my direct manager gives me small projects to oversee to help me develop myself.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As much support as I ask for.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It puts me in a position to be ready to take on subordinates in work, and also be comfortable in my own knowledge of management and emotional intelligence.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are some courses that are offered across the whole company for basic qualifications in things, and zoom calls of various topics, but nothing specific to my place of work

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Homegrown Hotels to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good development for those that want and work for it. Great support through any issues an employee might have, a welcoming and inclusive environment, and great people
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Homegrown Hotels?
Have a reason why you want to work here, let it be known and don't close any of the doors that may be in front of you until you've had a look at what is on offer. Speak to people and enjoy it all.
