Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
Working in a team to perform an audit for a client. Work included testing different FSLIs, communicating with the client regularly and spending a considerable amount of time in college training for the first 7 ACA exams
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
The hours are very long and overtime is expected. It is hard to maintain a good work life balance with the working expectations and the time dedicated to studying for the ACA exams

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. Have received 7/15 ACA exam qualifications. Become more competent with excel and the use of PwC technology tools

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well organised. The first three months are mostly internal training and days spent at college for the ACA exams.
We are delegated our own areas to focus on with clear help available from other individuals to support this work
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Good level of coaching available and everyone is very approachable
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot. You spend a lot of time in college with your cohort preparing for the exams. Support was good despite it being mostly only due to Covid-19 restrictions
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
A lot. The ACA qualification provides all the foundations for the audit work we perform. The technical accounting knowledge gained allows you to be more critical with your audit approach
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are often social activities such as sports day, christmas parties, year group events etc. These are often paid for mostly by PwC

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Lots of job opportunities across departments and countries. Good social working environment. The working hours let this down though
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be prepared to work hard but make some great friends
