Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
I manipulate raw data from a variety of sources to help provide accurate databases and monthly reports of sales figures and growth rates in the wider beauty market. This primarily involves pulling data from various sources and collating them into various reports ready to share the figures with the international zone team each month.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I quite enjoy the degree aspect of my apprenticeship however as I know the role isn't one that I have a huge passion for, and due to frequent personnel changes in my team, and often being overwhelmed with work when approaching deadlines, the enjoyment I receive isn't as much as I had hoped when I started this role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
I have vastly improved my excel skills as well as becoming able to extract data from various different sources and begin build relationships with clients who supply the data. I have also touched upon developing my PowerPoint skills with certain tasks as well as vastly improving my time management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme itself is quite well structured, baring some issues when changing apprenticeship provider.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My boss is very supportive of my work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
There is ample support available to students of Kent Business School to my knowledge however I rarely uses some of the services they offer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I'm very happy to receive the qualification that I will do upon completion of my apprenticeship, but it offers virtually no carry over to my role. I'm fine with this being the case but it is true.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes there are various social committees across different divisions, these vary between divisions, some of which are very social, and others are not so much.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
No
Why?
My experience of professional working life is restricted to just L'Oreal so I can't compare to elsewhere, but the culture even speaking to other more experienced employees is often that 'if you can survive working at L'Oreal, you can work anywhere'. The culture varies so much from brand to brand / division to division though.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal?
Show an interest and enthusiasm into the company, if you're not too sure on if the role is right or you, the company are generally quite accommodating of people switching roles within the company.
