Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a DTO Apprentice nearing the end of my first year. So far my job has involved travelling the Derwentside College and working with different teachers, completing assignments and practical workshop tasks. It is my responsibility to keep track of my work and have it in on time. When the College is on half term, I report into the Cummins site in Darlington for work. Where I will be given work shadowing and taking part in different jobs around site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme very much, the work is often difficult but this is a challenge that I accept and try my best to overcome. Everyone involve in my journey with Cummins so far has been helpful, friendly and understanding when it comes to aiding my growth throughout the apprenticeship process.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Throughout my time in Cummins, I have developed and grown many skills I've gained throughout my life. My communication skills, team working skills, organization skills, Confidence and ability to work on my own have all improved greatly since I have joined the team and I cannot wait to develop them further.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme I am a part of is very well organized and structured by everyone involved. I have had no trouble understanding my schedule and my work up to this point. there have been times in college where structure of my learning plan has not been fully clear to me, however this is to no fault of anyone within Cummins.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support received from my employers has been excellent, they are always keeping in touch with weekly meetings and calls to see how we are doing, if we are finding our time in the apprenticeship enjoyable and fun and whether we are comfortable and understand what we are doing at all times.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The support received from training providers has been great, they are always checking in to see how we are doing, sitting down with us and coming up with an improvement plan to set everything back on track whenever I have been struggling and my work output is less then excellent.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is plenty of extra-curricular activities to be done at work, I have not yet had the chance to take part in them myself or know the specifics of what exactly they are, but I greatly look forward to doing so in the near future.
