Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day generally begins by being filled in by my manager and by my colleagues on my department what is needed to be done that day. My role is focused on customer service before most things, so this involves serving customers on tills and assisting them to make online orders. I tend to deal with a lot of traders on a day-to-day basis with the majority of them being in store early in the morning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my Apprenticeship very much; It gives me a lot of new knowledge that I have not yet had the opportunity to learn solely from working in my employment, plus it has helped me become more confident in myself in terms of my intelligence and abilities and continues to make me more confident in these as I progress.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a multitude of things during my time in my current employment; Firstly, I have learnt how to safely use different types of equipment through training modules and courses. Secondly, I have learnt how to improve not only my work ethic in terms of how fast to serve customers, but how to improve their experience when they are making their journey through my branch.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is, for the most part, very well organised. The only slight issue with the organisation of the Apprenticeship is that I have been struggling to find the time and opportunities to progress due to a consistent issue of any agreed upon time to learn new procedures or new departments for my apprenticeship have been unfortunately not met due to the constantly changing nature of retail; this is something my manager knows about and I am liaising with him to find a solution to this issue.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I do tend to receive a fair amount of support from my employer. As I said previously, there is a slight issue that has been affecting my progress, but this is something that my employer knows about and is working on in order to find a solution as quickly as possible. Other than this, the support I receive is more than sufficient.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I do receive a lot of support from my mentor for Lifetime. She is very helpful and understanding with any issues I have, for example, I had to move a meeting I was due to have with her because it clashed with my Grandad's funeral and she was more than happy to accommodate it and moved it to the next possible date for me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I personally believe that my qualification helps me in every aspect of my work ethic to be better at my job; this ranges from serving customers better with a better knowledge of both how to have better conversations with them and also with better knowledge of my company so that I can make sure I am giving the customer the correct information to go away from the conversation with.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are usually Christmas parties each year, however Covid halted them in 2020 only. Other than this, there is sometimes a group of people who get together if the numbers are there on a Wednesday evening to play some football at a nearby pitch. As well as this, there do tend to be quite a few get-togethers at a local pub for a number of reasons, however as I do not drink alcohol, I do find myself feeling somewhat distanced from those who attend these events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lifetime Training Group Limited to a friend?
Yes
Why?
To be put as simply as possible, I would recommend Lifetime to a friend for a number of reasons; these range from the fact that you would get a universally accepted qualification to the great level of support you get from the mentors in the company to the fact that you can complete this apprenticeship during your work hours, thus not creating extra activities to complete at home.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lifetime Training Group Limited?
I personally would say to those who are applying to Lifetime to make sure that they are able to compromise with their employer in order to make sure that they get the amount of hours they need off the shop floor in order to complete their apprenticeship. I would also say to be as honest as possible with your mentor as to if you are struggling with any activity or if you need to change the date of a meeting with them as they are very understanding about it. The only thing I wish I had been told is that I could begin an apprenticeship sooner than when I began the process.
