Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Assisting the managers with their work, as well as contacting customers myself, providing service to them and helping them with any issues they face. I also have to use the banking systems to support the customers in managing their finances. I also check accounts routinely and make sure they're within their agreed limits.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my day to day work as every day is different and I get to communicate with different people day by day. I do like the team I work with and I seem to be getting along well with the staff I work with. overall i enjoy my programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
i have improved on my ability to work as a team by involving myself in frequent team meetings, as well as one to one calls with others in my team. I've also improved on my ability to communicate with customers, and have improved my written communications with customers and staff alike.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
the apprentice work itself isn't very well organised as there isn't much communication from the apprentice team as a whole, and I have to rely on one of the other apprentices from a year ago for things to be explained. the website is acceptable though as it does have some information.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
i receive constant support from both my manager and the rest of the team. we have one on one calls weekly to discuss any work I have that I am stuck on, so they can help me. I also have calls regularly with the other assistants where we discuss work we have outstanding to support one another.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I've not had anything more then usual currently, i still am receiving the same quantity of support from the team as a whole. I have had a few calls with my bpp manager but the webinars always clash when i'm in meetings and I don't think they are very good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think the work will provide me with a deeper knowledge in the bank as a whole, and the services that we provide. however, it doesn't really affect me in my day to day work. I do feel that some of the CBI coursework i've done has helped me though.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, there are some networking events, however I am not at the moment looking at doing that. with covid restrictions still in place for things like this, they do not happen very often. when they begin to occur more, i will probably be going out on them. There is also occasional charity events at the bank which I can go to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
i would recommend natwest to a friend as they provide good benefits for working such as high potential for career growth as well as a good car scheme. there is also a good work environment as all the staff are friendly and will help you progress and provide you with support
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Id suggest they prepare a lot for the interviews and make sure you have lots of examples where you have done certain things. I.E - help out a colleague etc. the application process takes quite a while and you will have to go through quite a few phases of it before you actually have your interview.
