To look after the well-being of people in their daily lives and help people living with different physical disabilities and mental health needs to live their lives more independently and to support them to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support.

I enjoy a challenge and learning new skills.

In my role, full training is provided and to be able to administer medication/via peg further training is provided and regularly updated.

Very well organised. I have regular contact and meetings and support with my training provider.

A lot of support through my training provider. She’s amazing! She supports me via my work and my functional skill tests I have coming up.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Even though I have to complete regular E-learning and update my knowledge with regular policy and procedures. Using my knowledge to complete units helps me fully understand the information I know and study on aspects I don’t know or have little knowledge about.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At the moment everything is up in the air as we are still learning to go self direct. Once you have graspt the concept it’s a good place to work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Choice Support?
Only enter this line of work if you truly have empathy and are a compassionate person. If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.
