Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Carrying out audit procedures which increase in complexity as the placements progress.
Testing that financial statement balances are correct by liaising with clients forming a testing strategy and then collected the information required.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme. As it is smaller you make very close friends on the course at university. As the placements progress other staff members begin to trust you and you take on more and more important work

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to manage clients expectations and behaviour over the course of an audit.
I have also broadened my understanding of financial statements and have bolstered my knowledge of how each line works and can be tested.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well organised. It is clear what exams are accredited and also how the placements are going to run. There are regular check in calls both at uni and on placement to keep students aware of what is going on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Loads of support! PwC is a business full of young people and so the culture and structure is designed to support young and inexperienced professionals like flying starts
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The University have provided a lot of support over the course of my time there, laying on important revision sessions for particularly hard exams
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification helps considerably. I have applied knowledge learnt in the classroom (such as Debits and Credits in accounting) that I have then had to use to explain a process to my senior manager.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is an array of extra-curricular activities, I myself has played rugby for PwC

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes

A company with a supportive and encouraging working culture that always wants you to do your best and improve
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Just be yourself; PwC values more than just academic clout, they like personability and people who can speak confidently and engage with new colleagues and clients
