Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves going to different sites in my region and commissioning the BMS system. This requires engineering the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system and programming it to our computer software.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme and the company is excellent to work for.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I've learned many new skills in regard to the engineering trade as well as people skills when liaising with customers and other engineers

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
There could be more organisation and structure applied to the programme, there is a lot of jumping around from place to place nd not always work available to us so a lot of waiting around.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
There is not always a lot of communication with those higher above and I often find myself stuck with what to do/ who to turn to if I'm struggling. However, the team at Schneider are happy to help if you reach out but I've found this is not always easy to do. More support should be made available to those struggling with mental health, specifically to apprentices moved to different regions as this could have a large negative impact on mental health and wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Personally, I have found my university experience very positive and have been given a lot of help and support when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps me learn to balance my time and know where to focus my efforts to maintain on top of everything
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many extra-curricular activities offered from netball teams to stem ambassadors

Yes
Why?
It is a great scheme and they invest a lot of time into you, it pays well and I am grateful for the opportunities they have provided for me.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?
Be yourself, appreciate that Schneider look for academic achievements but there is also a lot of focus on personality so let that shine through
