Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
On a day to day basis we had a morning catch up, followed by talks from the specific ‘seat’ we were doing that day. Then we would have task time to work on the task surrounding that area of law. We would be able to discuss this with the speaker if needed. We always received feedback for these tasks. Then there were more talks which usually surrounded IM’s culture.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really interesting to learn about all of the different staff and their roles, and how the business operates in order to be successful.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed my legal skills, particularly in sectors that I had not previously considered. We learned how to draft letters to begin a claim, and various other things. I also developed my confidence as we spoke to a vast range of legal professionals. My presentation skills improved, as this was a final marked task.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture of the firm was extremely welcoming, and very client orientated. A lot of solicitors mentioned developing a rapore with a client in order to maintain a relationship.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight. I felt like all of the staff at the firm were inclusive and friendly, and really valued our time, thoughts and opinions of the firm.

Really research the firm and it’s core values, and relate this back to your values thoughts and experiences. They don’t want a finished product and your knowledge of the law does not matter here. Show your enthusiasm and excitement for the firm and you will sail through.
