Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each day I experienced a new legal department. On that day we were given a clear brief and then given time to complete the tasks. We were then given comprehensive feedback having submitted the tasks which was very useful. There was also time throughout the day to catch up with fellow placement students as well as partners and trainees over a virtual coffeee.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was useful to be able to ask so many questions about the company so I could really get a sense as to whether I could see myself working there or not. We were given a lot of insight into the role of a trainee and the tasks they complete on a day to day basis. We also had a good insight into the clients Irwin Mitchell deals with.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
My networking skills certainly developed as I was exposed to so many employees at the firm. It was certainly a new experience having to do the placement virtually, albeit, it developed my confidence further and refined my ability to work in an unfamiliar way/setting.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was great. Everybody who worked at the firm was so friendly and approachable. If i didn't understand a task I was able to easily contact a member of the team and arrange a virtual catch up for clarification.

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. It taught me a lot and also gave me an opportunity to present myself to the firm as best I could.
