Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Had talks from early careers team introducing us to the firm and its inner workings. Then each day was based on a different department e.g. commercial where we had a talk from a member of that department and then a trainee-like task set to complete by the end of the day. Also had other talks from other departments or CSR and had social time with other trainees.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was interesting to gain an insight into a national law firm and learn about the types of clients and cases worked on from experienced solicitors and partners.
Gave a real opportunity to be able to apply for trainee roles available.

New skills: completion of legal documents e.g. Letter of Claim.
Developed skills: time management as tasks were a lot to complete in amount of time given and had to balance other events in the day;

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very inclusive and welcoming: they were very interested in CSR, diversity, making adjustments for and giving help to those who needed it. It was less high pressure and intimidating than other firms despite its size.

I really enjoyed the insight as it was both informative about the work and culture of the firm and interactive in having to carry out different tasks and networking with the firm.
