Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day-to-day role involves communicating with the wider business on their training needs. Helping them to access training courses and sessions for their teams. I'm also responsible in managing our LMS to track and report on training completions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Being on this apprenticeship has allowed to work more closely with the wider business and understand their learning needs and requirements. It has given me more confidence as I've had the opportunity to learn the theories behind different learning styles and learn how to create an engaging training session.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've been able to put on my own training session to help managers track training progress. This has allowed me to develop new skills. As I have been responsible for designing the content, the delivery of the training session, and evaluating the feedback. Using the training cycle.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structure as you can access the online content at any time which you can work through at your own pace. You also get the chance to check in with a mentor every couple of weeks to look at your progress. I always look forward to the zoom training sessions. As they give you the opportunity to interact with other people on your programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager has been great at supporting me with my apprenticeship. We have a catch up call every week to keep me on track. It gives me the opportunity to discuss how I can utilise what I have learnt from the programme, and how I can apply it to my day to day job.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We have access to a mentor and can reach out to them at any point during the programme. I also find the trainer that delivers the sessions is also great. She always provides us with really useful guides and tools to help us with our research, and is great at getting us to interact and ask questions when we are in the training sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
This qualification has allowed me to understand the theory side of training. I now have a better understanding of L&D and the training cycle. I definitely feel more knowledgeable in my role and have gained a range of new skills which has not only developed me as a person but will also be great for the company. As I can now start to analyse and evaluate the impact of the training we deliver to the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
CityFibre have a range of diversity and inclusion Networks which you can join at anytime. There are also regular webinars/talks discussing a variety of topics, like fitness and well being. Sometimes these events will have a guess speaker. A weekly newsletter is also sent out to the business which highlights any upcoming events and the details on how you can get involved.
