Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Audit work - planning and completion
Being giving control over certain areas - obtaining evidence from the client, picking samples and documenting testing on file for managers to review
Regular meetings with seniors to ask questions or for them to assign work
Coaching more inexperienced individuals on the team when they need help
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
PwC is a great place to work - have had the opportunity to work on multiple clients this engagement and each team has been friendly and welcoming.
Host regular socials and parties to help the team relax
Option to work remote which helps save on travelling
Help is always given when you ask

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
My communication skills have been improved as I have been working on London clients so communicating virtually has been a challenge but I have been able to work on this by holding regular catch ups when I require help
Working on more challenging new areas has also improved my audit skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The first few weeks can be tricky given the length of time between each placement - lots of skills are forgotten and it can take a while to get up to speed over areas we may have previously studied
Only get to do busy season once compared to others
when we join full time maybe we are slightly inexperienced compared to others
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Each employee has a career coach who are really helpful and check in at least once a month which is useful
Also there is a flying start champion and we use a group chat to communicate any issues that we may have
Managers will always give help if its work related answering questions in good time
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot of the course is done by the university and the help we have been given is solid
lots of lectures and seminars help to improve understanding
module conveners always on hand to answer questions
opportunity to complete practice questions which are marked
are always provided with question bank and study manual which are valuable resources
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Maybe only the audit and assurance module is relevant but I feel the skills we pick up when doing our exams are more relevant
lots of the work we do we pick up on the job rather than using the understanding from what we have learnt from the university modules
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Lots of social activities - regular flying start lunches and socials
each person is also put in a social group who have a monthly social
also each audit unit will have a party at christmas or in the summer
bigger clients tend to have end of audit signing socials which are fun
