Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I support tenants who live independently go about their daily lives if they struggle with cleaning I help or promote them to do something themselves and help with food shopping and dealing with their money daily. It’s very rewarding.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find the writhing part on diploma very interesting as I learn new things and remember certain information so I can use on day to day basis but I do struggle when I did mathematics and English exams for the diploma.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have had training with my old job and lifeways job hoisting and fire Evacuation safety I keep updated on all my training online and having a trainer come in as well to do updates training so my mind is refreshed every 3,6 and 12 months.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised and structured programs and the assessor will advise and help you whenever you are struggling with something.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a lot of help from my manager to support me to complete my diploma but some of the staff members that have done their diploma has helped where needed that guidance.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I get loads of help from my training provider by having maths tutoring to group maths classes as I really struggle with mathematics doing it myself so this has helped my confidence just a little bit as still long way to go to get the correct answers for maths.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that the written work has helped a lot as it’s talking about safeguarding, legislation things we need to do daily to keep all the tenants safe so it’s helped me look at things in a different light. And bring the work into my work.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yeah we have a place we go to which has karaoke, baking, disco, bingo where some of the tenants can go and mix with the community around them so they become independent on daily basis. Having these groups are good for mental health and very rewarding for the tenants.
