Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am working in the Financial conduct Authority as a data analyst apprentice. My role is to collect, organise and study data to provide business insight. A typical day involved managing, cleansing, abstracting, and aggregating data, and conducting a range of analytical studies on that data. I work across a variety of projects, providing technical data solutions to a range of stakeholders/customers’ requests. I document and report the results of data analysis. I am trying to build a good understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of analyses.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy this programme. I have fit very well with my team and I love the job I do. Also the organisation is fantastic. I learn every day something new and I feel I have develop a lot new skill which will help me to get after my programme a job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Every Thursday is my study day and I do not do anything else apart from my study, and watching some live tutorials. I have often meetings with my Mentor to discuss my development, and I have meetings with my tutor. Every unit we learn after test our skills with assessments and we have a time table to help us organise our time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager has often meetings with me and he plans after which project I have to work and how he can help me to develop extra skills. Also my colleagues share all their knowledge to help me learn faster.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have every Friday meeting if I struggle with something they explain and help me to move on with my assessments and project I am working on.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

A lot. Everything I learn with the college is all skills my colleagues use everyday to solve problems.
