From joining the company a year at college is completed full time where you learn new skills used in the workplace. The second and third years college is attended one day a week, fourth year is full time in the factory.

Mentors and team leaders are very supportive and give praise where it is deserved. If you have any queries with work everyone on the shop floor is quick to help, explaining what they are doing as they do it, helping you to develop confidence and independence in the workplace.

Tutors set us deadlines to help us keep up to date and on track with our college work to make sure we can complete our apprenticeship on time. Support is always a text or phone call away, and tutors are always fast to give us advise on our work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
A lot of what I have learnt in college translates directly into the workplace, the qualification gives me deeper knowledge of what I am doing at work for example a deeper understanding of why speeds and feeds affect a components surface finish.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Due to COVID-19 there hasn't been a lot of extra-curricular activities to partake in at my time at Rolls-Royce, however there are some coming up in the future for example a football tournament, activities like this strengthen relationships between employee's increasing morale.
