Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
Training - have the training system 'leatro'
Support -
Studying - do not get extra time to study during work hours like other apprenticeship, especially doing a degree.
Support meetings/mentor system - manager can sometimes be supportive
Is your programme well organised? - sometimes
How much support do you receive from your employer?
HR Team - nothing
Mentor - don't really have a personal mentor
Accessibility of support - is ok
General attitude towards supporting you - sometimes it doesn't feel like we get the support that we are asking for, and we have to turn to other apprentices for other managers
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
-the NDT learning helps really well as it is what we will be using in the day to day jobs
-the university work doesn't really help that much, as it has nothing really to do with our day to day work, or what we might be doing in the near future
Have you put the theory you have learnt into practice?
- yeah and have passed some of my qualifications because of this
Do you feel you know more about your job/role/industry from completing your qualification?
-the SWS of NDT qualifications, yes
-the UoN qualifications, no
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Company activities - nothing that many that i know of
Social events - nothing that i know of, other then what are organised in the induvial teams
Any voluntary initiatives - nothing that many that i know of
Local community - nothing that many that i know of
Events / classes - nothing that many that i know of
Leisure / sports clubs - yes, we have a leisure club, not that i attend
What do you do when you are not working? - relax at home with family

Experience / opportunities - gain as much extra experience you can, if it is work experience etc.
What would you like to have been told?
-what the university course includes
- that there were immediate residential courses that i had to complete, which lasted around 2.5 months
-more information about that is expected of the apprenticeship
- more structure for the apprenticeship
