Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I process purchase orders for many different customers, (such as Department of Education and TFL) I answer customer queries from shared mailboxes and work closely with suppliers to ensure efficient deliveries. The customer queries may include lost devices, damaged devices or they may enquire about a return for their devices,
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the work as I have moved around to different accounts which has helped me develop my skills whilst learning the different processes on each account. I have a great apprenticeship team and I have lots of support from my TL and colleagues. I enjoy coming into the office as the teams are all so friendly and there is always a great atmosphere.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have majorly developed with my communication, presentation, IT and team work skills - this is from being in role, LinkedIn learning videos, workshops and tasks from Babington. I have also developed my networking skills from internal Computacenter events that I have been invited to which has helped me gain lots of confidence.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
We have had a well structured and organised programme from start to finish, even through COVID changes, gaining new team members and our management changing. The training has always been to a high standard, whilst the support we receive has been excellent. We often have 121s with a Babington skills coach and our internal CC TL.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We receive lots of support from many people within Computacenter, our manager is always someone we can count on with any issues regarding internally or externally with Babington. There is also great support if needed regarding our mental health and wellbeing, there are so many platforms we are given access to if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Throughout the apprenticeship we had a call every 6 weeks with our skills coach to go over any tasks we needed assistance with, she was always very supportive and always offered a hand with anything I needed. Towards the end we often had a call every week to ensure we were heading in the right direction with the final tasks.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel as though my qualification definitely helps me to perform better in my role as I am able to put a lot of the theory into practice when in my day to day role. I definitely have learnt more about my company and industry from completing my apprenticeship, than if I had come in with a regular role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I have volunteered at a local school to share my experience with the apprenticeship. I have been to many social events, e.g. the GTO conference where I learnt a lot about my department and where it was heading whilst also being able to network and meet lots of new people.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There are lots of amazing opportunities at CC so you will always be able to progress here. The company culture makes coming into the office very enjoyable and there are lots of great social events. The support provided is amazing and makes you feel looked after and appreciated. It is a large company but management ensure that all individuals feel valued.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
My application process was slightly different as it was during COVID so everything was remote but I would advise people to be themselves and to let their personality shine through in the interviews. My experience was great and I am so glad I applied to do this apprenticeship.
