My role within the company is to install and maintain Openreach's copper and fibre telecoms network to residential and business customers. I organise my work load and what items I need to complete my work for example various tools and materials consumables etc I also assist other engineers who may require safety assist to complete tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am enjoying the programme very much, I have a great team who support me both within my day to day role from engineers and from my management team, I also find great help in understanding what is required for me to complete my various learning activity's from my course tutor and online via my learning portals.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned a large array of new skills including how to safely use power tools, drive a large livery vehicle, how to work over head and underground on the telecom network and use of various hand tools specific to the telecoms industry. I was able to transfer my current skills of time management, coshh, and experience of customer service to this role to help me provide a efficient, safe and brilliant service.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I feel I am lucky to be within a well structured and also organised programme. For example from the start of my programme I received the entire years course timeline, and any additional documents. My tutor is very clear within each session of the timeline and where we are within the course and how we are progressing. Any issues with learning are easily addressed and rectified due to the way it is structed and able to adapt to each learners requirement.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
If I require any support I am able to contact a various amount of people who have different roles within the business. For example if I require any field support for m day to day duties I can contact another engineer within my tram via phone, or any personal issues I can contact my manger, or the HR team. If I require any help or support with my learning I am able to contact my tutor or course mentors via phone text or email.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My tutor is always checking in to see if myself or any of my delegates require any further help or support. For example I had a question on an item of my coursework and was able to email my tutor to clarify some points. He responded very promptly with not only the answers to my questions but also with great feedback which helped to ensure that I was moving in a positive direction within my course and to a great result at the end.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I can have busy days that require a lot of focus on the task in hand, but during my day I am able to relate and refer to my training to help me overcome and react correctly to an array of situations. It is refreshing to feel that my learning is able to be executed within my role so clearly and provides me with a great sense of achievement to realise that my training has given me new skills and a great job satisfaction.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My organisation has a diverse work force and is always advertising various social and work events that allow people to engage and build a network within the business. They also offer 3 days paid for volunteering work within our local community. They also offer a great incentives scheme which rewards employees.
