Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
in my role I develop internal software components for the confirmation of payee team. I have been involved in front end and back end development for example. I have made dynamic reports, user interfaces, dynamic tables which get used by our internal data analysts. I also take part in daily meetings with collegaues to speak about progress made and issues faced during development.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed my programme so much i have been able to meet and work with so many kind and talented people that have supported me tremendously through the programme. i have learnt about different cultures as my team is also based in India therefore we learn about amazing and interesting festivals such as Diwali.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed many new skills during my team here a NatWest. I have built up my confidence significantly by taking part in organisation hackathons and speaking in town halls. this has aided my communication skills within my job. I have also developed my technical skills with on and off the job training.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
my programme was structured really well I have training sessions with my apprenticeship that tie into what I'm doing at work. for example i am learning about front end development with my training provider and I am currently involved in front end development at work so its very helpful to learn and put my learnings into practice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer from my line manager who speaks to me on a weekly basis to see how I am getting on in terms of my job role and my physical and mental health. my colleagues are also a massive help they guide and teach me to perform my job role to the best of my ability.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider whenever I need to reach out for help, they provide access to a learner cloud which offers free labs, videos and documents to aid in my development. they are also there to help with my assignments if I'm unsure on requirements etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
my qualification helps me understand my job role in technical ways such as the development side like suitable programming languages for certain tasks but also helps me understand the reasoning by methodologies we use at work, approaches to work stack and work distribution and many other factors that feed into the final product we produce.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Since i joined NatWest during the Corona Virus there hasn't been many physical activities to do while ive been at work but i have been able to do many online activities such as hackathons, town hall events and coffee clubs. Now that things are going back to normal we are starting more in person events which i am looking forward to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
NatWest is an amazing company that looks after its employees and provides them a healthy work life balance. Even though we are at work everyone is friendly and enjoys to talk about normal everyday things which helps you feel comfortable and part of the group. Its also a great place to learn new skills like i mentioned earlier
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
I would advice people to research about the NatWest CPC capabilities. These are bank wide behaviours that we expect people to bring to the NatWest family. i would also advise you to plan and prepare for interviews but don't be shy as they make you feel comfortable as the interview is like a normal conversation.
