Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
on a day to day to basis we are dealing with claimants regarding their health journeys to see if they are entitled to any extra benefit within univeral credit, this includes looking at them filling out questionnaires, attending work capability assesments and then checking the results to see if they are entitled to the extra benefit.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy the programme as it helps me think about the job more in terms of things that can be changed to improve my skills but also looking at developing new skills, it allows me to think about not just doing the work, but the reason why i am doing this work also.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
developed some skills so far that i have already gained from previous/current jobs, this would include my interactions with claimants, by taking their situation into consideration, making some i am using empathy where needed as a lot of claimant's we deal with are in really uncomfortable situations where they are struggling financially or require extra support.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I believe the programme so far has been structured well as I have been given tasks to take care of each week and if any additional support is needed I know who to speak to regarding this, I feel at first it would be difficult as doing it on own but now got over this and its not as bad as first thought.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
get a lot of support from employer as they give us a full day each week to complete apprenticeship work, they also have a group chat set up with everyone involved that also has an experienced number in the group who has went through the apprenticeship process before to help guide us when extra support is needed as well as monthly checks up.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Training provider so far has provided good support as anytime I am unsure what to do I am able to contact the training provider no matter what the actual query is, also able to ask for additional work or tasks to be sent over if i am ahead of schedule to keep me busy during apprenticeship day.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
i believe despite having a lot of experience within customer service jobs over the years, the qualification will not only help me perform better in my role but should also help when i am looking to progress within the business, it allows to look at reasons why we carry out certain processes go more in depth.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I believe if you would to take part in any extra curricular activities that option is available to you, I know it has been difficult last few years with that type of stuff due to covid, but it seems that we still try and do these things online or socially distanced if possible.

Why?
i believe since i have joined the business i have had a good experience, i felt the application process was very in depth which is good for bringing in the right staff but can understand why it would put some people off as well, overall my experience has been positive since joining DWP.
