I look after some payments, analyze different data sets to provide insights to the business and create reports.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm still at the beginning but so far it is quite interesting
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I'm in the first month of the programme, so I still have learned a lot from the day-to-day job but not from the program itself. I expect that I will expand my knowledge in statistical tools and learn how to analyze data with Python.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organized. We have a clear syllabus that provides a detailed view of the skills that we will learn in the next 18 months.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The employer provides a lot of support. My apprenticeship is open only to existing AstraZeneca employees and, in order to be accepted, we need to prove that our line managers are genuinely willing to reserve 20% of our working time to study and work on projects.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Hard to say right now, but they have provided a mentor we can always contact if we need help. Regular workshops and hackathon have also been schedule to make our learning experience easier.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Again, it is too soon to say but, as my role focuses on analyzing data, I'm sure that the techniques that we will be taught in the course will really help me to perform better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

AstraZeneca has good benefits and provides discounts for after work activities. However, being a big company, it does not provide the same kind of social activities that some smaller and younger companies might offer.

Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is an overall good company to work for: slightly above the average if compared to other pharmaceuticals and definitely above the average if compared to companies in other sectors. However, be aware that it requires its employees to work from the office at least 4 days per week.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
As for any other job, ensure that your CV and cover letter are tailored to the job offer. If invited for an interview, they will provide you with a copy of the AstraZeneca values. Ensure that you have relevant examples on how you previously displayed these values for the interview.
