Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The role involves working in a fast paced environment. As in any other warehouse I have been doing my regular jobs like: receiving, stowing, picking and packing. I did not see anything exciting except two hours per week to do my course during a shift time was something to be appreciated.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It was okay. It was not a very serious study programme. It was a very light and easy study programme. I was happy to learn some new principles like lean principles and continuous improvement, etc. I had a Development Day on a monthly basis, it was fun and a learnt a lot

Yes, I have developed a bit of the followings: Creativity, Interpersonal Skills, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Public Speaking, Customer Service Skills, Teamwork Skills, Communication, Collaboration, Accounting, Active Listening, Adaptability, Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, Empathy, Customer Service, Decision Making, Leadership skills, Organization, Language skills, Administrative skills. I would say that I developed my existing skills

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The training provider organised the programme very well. I had the support that I needed from the trainers. In my case, they were very supportive to the extent of extending my course more than 18 months. They motivated me to complete the course, though they put pressure on me through my managers.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The company / Employer did not organise the programme very well. The BIT apprenticeship was introduced to the FC for the first time. So it was not very well organised and the whole point of delivering the training to the employees was missing in the FC. Even the POCs and the managers do not know what to do with the apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had the full support. The training provider organised the programme very well. I had the support that I needed from the trainers. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It was a level 2 qualification. I sis it for a fun. it wasn't a game changer in my current role. I wanted to do some studies as a was working. Most of what I learnt was not knew to me. attaining a level 2 English functional skill was something good
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

No, nothing of that sort was introduced in the programme. Simply doing some monthly work on our own and a development day per month. Of course we established contact with the managers and other stakeholders on the FC. The external Trainer was good, so we had good time during the development day.

Would you recommend Amazon to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes, Amazon can provide huge variety of apprenticeship programme. The one that I did was not organised properly. However, if any apprenticeship programme are delivered by FCs that have already delivered the programme, they can develop the employees and the employees can get a permanent role in Amazon even some leadership position.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Amazon?
The interview process need to be revised, revisited and updated. I have heard that the employees who passed the interview and got through the initial assessment were not confirmed a position including full time employees of amazon. The internal management of the programme is not that satisfactory, so it need to be revised.
