Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Providing emergency and urgent care across the East Midlands. Responding to 999 and 111 calls. Applying person centred care and treating acute and chronic health conditions along with trauma care.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This has been a challenging program so far however the course content is enjoyable and learning the new skills from my lectures has been 1st class.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. Cannulation, in-depth patient assessment on the cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological systems. Administration of drugs in scope of a HCPC paramedic

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall there has been some teething issues as this is a new program of Traning. Our lecture try’s to accommodate us where he can and is open to change and new ideas to make the program more enjoyable and at the same time giving us the best experience at university
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There has been lots of support from my employer and they tend to try and solve any problems that may arise
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

On a personal account. I feel confident approaching my lecture at university and feedback upto the present time has been very structured and useful

Yea there is lots of them however sue to the intensity of the course i and unable to participate in anything at this moment in time.

Why?
The service is become a very modern service now they aim to promote development in staff and they are constantly selling new way in which patient care can be improved
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to East Midlands Ambulance Service?
Before applying try and get some prehospital experience, working directly with the community, look into the role you are applying for and see if before applying you could do some prior learning to help the training go smoothly as the in-depth of training for EMT/paramedic requires full dedication.
