Overview of the Experience

Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
3/5
Work experience involved audit. It involved preparing an audit report to give a conclusion on the client we were working on. We had to audit their financial statements and make sure it was free from material misstatements. We did this by preparing ega's by collecting evidence from the client.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
3/5
I did enjoy my work experience quite a bit. Since it was a completely new experience for me as I lived in a new city, away from friends and family. I loved experiencing the hustle bustle of London. I learnt new things and also enjoyed the socials in the office with my team members.
How well organised was your work experience?
4/5
work was well organised , as the seniors in my team used to set deadlines for different types of tasks so that it can be completed well in advance without adding any unnecessary pressure. There were times closed to deadline where we had to work for long hours and even on weekends
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
4/5
It helped me to understand my future career path in many ways since I am doing ACA through my uni exams and course and with this placement I got to experience one of the job roles that I would be applicable for through my qualification, that is audit. I got an idea of how audit works and if I would want to continue it or try different sectors such as tax or accounts
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
3/5
yes this was a paid three months placement. I was also paid for my overtime hours and since I am a flying start student I was also provided accomodation for. The facilities were really good and made my time at placement way better. If we worked past dinner time, our dinner expenses were also reimbursed

Skills Development

What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
3/5
Learnt quite a lot from this work experience. Learnt how to use excel better with a lot of new shortf orms. Worked in the office for the first time so got an insight to the corporate world and how is it to work with a team which has people from different nationalities.

Company Culture

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
3/5
I learnt alot about the company culture in the last three months. Working in PwC means a lot of exposure to many different things , there is a lot of work to do be done , but also a lot of socials to attend and new people to meet. They have measures to take care of mental health and well being as well/
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
3/5
There were a lot of opportunities where I got to meet other employees. Firstly, it was definitely meeting the team and having a good time while working with them and also being a part of team socials. I could also meet other employees in the office canteen during lunch break .

Recommendations and Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend this to a friend if they are ready for long working hours during busy season. I would recommend it as the company provides great facilities and support and also has a decent pay. If my friend has keen interest in audit it is one of the 4 and definitely a reputed company to work in.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
I would advice them to be prepared for long working hours whenever required and not get frustrated by the amount of work load at a particular point of time as things do get better past the busy season. I would also advice them to develop and build good relationships during their time at work.
