Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Auditing the financial statements of companies to ensure they are free from material misstatements and fraud
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoyed the environment in the office, everyone I have worked with was very friendly and it is very easy to make friends with people. The company sends regular emails regarding mental health and organises various socials so colleagues in the same grade can meet and socialise

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Have developed the technical skills I obtained in the prior placement and and put everything I learned in university in practice. I have worked for the first time in the office and client site, so I was able to build relationships with my teams and clients

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
We had 2 weeks of training before each placement started so we can get familiar with all the technicalities of the job. We receive a lot of support from the administrators in PwC and in the university for any issues we may face.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We have wellbeing calls with the placement administrators on the employers side to ensure we are having a good time on placement. We also receive wellbeing emails when they notice that we have worked too many hours in overtime to ensure we are well and not being overworked
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
They give us guidance on how to submit our training hours on the ICAEW website and give us time off for exams and training
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have learned a lot on placement which will help me with my professional exams in the future and my full-time job after university if I stay in audit. Even if I choose to leave audit, have learned a lot of soft skills on placement
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We are part of various social groups which organise activities and events for everyone to socialise and get their mind off of work. Each team also usually spends some time in the week to play games together or go out for drinks after work

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great company to get your career started, being one of the Big 4, and is great at ensuring their employees are doing well.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
