Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consists of being trained within different competencies and clusters in the business. This is via rotations over a certain time period, allowing me to gain experience and work in the many different areas of the business - I am able to take control of my learning and put myself forward for tasks I want to help me improve my skills as well as further my development. My responsibilities differ according to the project i'm on but a few skills i've used over my rotations have been project management, communication, presenting, technical expertise, video creation, stakeholder management, effective team working and more!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme as I feel as though I have an excellent support system around me as well as many areas for me to develop my skills in and further my career. I am not short of opportunities and the work itself is interesting as well as engaging.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills due to the vast amounts of project available to get stuck into with BMI such as the art of communicating, presenting and engaging with your audience as well as how to tailor your presentations according to the audience. How to manage a project which was a skill I made clear I wanted development on and was provided the help and support with that- and many more
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured with 6 month rotations in the firm which are meant to be across different competencies. the first year was very well structured with set project to choose from, however the second year is more finding the projects for yourself which threw me off a little. The exams are set out with dates in advance and the same for assignment deadlines. Within your project there's plenty of support for apprentices and your career coach is there to help you with any other issues.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have had plenty of support during my team at PwC - from all my fellow coworkers, my line managers in each team i've been in, an escalation process that grants me access to more senior leadership should I have any serious problems or issues and a career coach who is there to help me with anything I need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider is Kaplan and i think they really let the apprenticeship programme down as they were very unorganised with deadlines conflicting with other important dates and deadlines as well as their exams containing vague and ambiguous questions and a poorly lead lecture process which is supposed to teach you the content however barely does. The content is all crammed into 2 or 3 days also
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

the content my training provider gave was helpful with my qualification as it taught me about the generics of business such as tools and methodologies, business structures, stakeholder issues and more however as a student with a background in business during schoola nd college these topics were not very new to me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

PwC has many social activities constantly - during work and after work and it's a very sociable firm with co workers always being up for getting involved in different things. They also have sports teams for all the different sports such as Netball and Football and opportunities to network professionally at times also

Why?
I have really enjoyed my time as an apprentice here and feel supported as well as if I enjoy the work. The firm offers support and advice when I need it and my coworkers have been friendly and helpful at all times. I've also been able to build a network and use this to further my career so far
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
I would say to be completely sure of where you want to go with your career and education and ensure the area is of interest to you - this is to make sure you enjoy the apprenticeship and the content and prevent it from being a chore. I would also say to thoroughly research the firm and its culture to see if it's the best fit for you and how you enjoy working as well as research the application process.
