Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:

It was an online programme where the students listened to various talks by numerous colleagues who currently work at the bank, in a range of different roles. At the end, we were given guidance about interview preparation and life beyond school.

To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?

It was quite boring sitting online in front of the screen, but that is expected in such difficulat circumstances.

It was well organised, especially with such a large group of kids on the call.

We were taught a lot about the different jobs available at HSBC and what routes to take to get there.

There was lots of emphasis on the culture at HSBC and we got a good insight into the ramge of jobs available.

Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?

As it was online, there was little small talk etc, but we did meet many people online.

Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?

Yes

Hopefully the issues I faced were unique to the online nature of the course, and so am confident the in-person alternative would be very helpful to other students.
