Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Modern approach to delivering an apprenticeship programme mixing industry certifications and placements with a degree. Ideal for anyone with a passion for technology.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The PwC side of the programme is the most enjoyable. Queen's modules are hit-and-miss where the technical modules feel relevant to industry while non-technical ones in Year 1&2 feel redundant. From my perspective, the most enjoyable Queen's modules are the programming ones.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Microsoft: Cloud Computing, Data Analysis, Project Management, AI, Data Visualisation

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
PwC has a clear structure for delivering the programme where placement dates / timescales are clearly defined. Queen's structures most of their modules well, giving material that prepares you for placement but the exam results can take quite a while to be returned.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Loads - there are plenty of opportunities to get industry certifications that boost your CV and make you stand out from the crowd. Training is also provided and is of high quality, covering the examined content in great detail.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Training courses are provided periodically for industry exams and relevant documentation is also provided.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Modules relating to Software Engineering / Design help me to perform better in my job role because they teach digital acumen as well as abstract & critical thinking / problem analysis. Some of the Year 1&2 modules are outdated / teach skills that aren't relevant to a career at PwC.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Loads - there are socials within Communities of Practice (teams) and there are plenty of chances to network with senior staff.
