Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Audit associate. Testing areas of the financial statements to see if they are stated true/fair. This involves taking a sample and obtaining supporting documents e.g. invoice/ bank statements. This is important as FS can impact shareholders and stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme as there is a blend each year between placement and university. This allows us to put into practice the knowledge that we learn at university into the work that we do on placement.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed lots of skills whilst on placement such as communication and teamwork. This is because they are essential skills to ensure that the audit is completed to the deadline but also that sufficient and appropriate evidence is gathered.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Really well organised as all the lecturers strongly believe and care about the programme they know how important it is to be organised so that we get through all the content in time to do the exams/ go on placement.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As each placement is during the busy season of audit it is sometimes hard to get support however there are lots of places you can go to to get support. Everyone has a carer coach and is part of an industry group. I also worked on large teams that have a wellbeing champion that you can talk to if you have any issues
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They provide all of the resources we need to sit the exams for the qualifications and are supportive throughout.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The things that we learn at university and get qualifications for run parallel with the role that we have in our jobs. I find this really helpful as the things that we learn we put straight into practice in the job
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are. Everyone has an industry group that they are a part of and each industry group has socials and activities that you can get involved in as much or as little as you want. Examples of activities are bake offs and quizzes.

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a good place to work and the people that I have worked with are friendly and welcoming. As it is one of the big 4 audit firms it is also an excellent place to work and has lots of opportunities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be happy and friendly. Make sure you listen to the questions and answer honestly. In group interviews make sure you listen to others and also join in with the team by adding to the discussion.
