Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My team develop projects for business and commercial customers and non customers, our projects offer non financial support. My role on a daily basis includes contacting stake holders, completing comms updates for the teams, ensuring our documents are up to date, follow governance processes consult on projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I am enjoying learning and developing my skills, however there always seems to be some confusion within the programme. we have our first submission due on the 8th of April, however there was a webinar on the 28th of march for the next module, and we were told on that call that it was expected for us to have came prepared and done pre reading. we have yet to be told what the pre reading is for each webinar, we dont know what we are to prepare and i cant understand how we are expected to be prepared and have full knowledge on the second module when we are yet to complete the first. i enjoy my role and my team, however i am finding the programme itself very stressful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
yes, i have done an accreditation for one of our governance processes meaning i can support and push projects to finish quicker. working through agile training. i have learnt some of the basics of what it takes to run a project.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
there is a structure, it is just hard to follow. and as mentioned before, when you have coaches throwing comments in about being prepared when we dont get told what we need to do to prepare, it becomes very overwhelming and i feel like i am massively behind the rest of the cohort.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
As much support as i need, however my team is a busy team so i must be patient when asking questions
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I dont feel there is a huge amount of support. I had to contact the provider, and mention multiple times that we had not yet met our coach. My coach seems lovely, however after our initial meeting she has not contacted me. she did say we would meet up again prior to me going on holiday (this week) but i have heard nothing. I have emailed with a question which she responded to, but i feel they could do more to support. i am relying a lot on the other apprentices to help me get through the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
It gives me knowledge, which i can use however i am not used to online learning. i grew up in a classroom environment where you can ask questions. i am struggling to take in the information provided as i have to either read it or be spoken at by a computer. i know it is an online course but there should be more webinars, where we can talk and discuss, again rather than just the coach talking at us
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
yes, volunteering and being team reps for things such as mental health and wellbeing. i am a member of the armed forces group within the bank. the bank have given us many networking opportunities

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
i have worked within 2 teams in the bank, and both have felt like family. we have each others backs and support each other. i do feel my development is more of a focus now in my new team, and they are keen to see me develop.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
know our purpose, learn the basics first like the yes check and the performance excellence information on the intranet. Find a mentor, i did not know strangers from across the bank can help mentor you into a role youd like in the future. discover where you think oud like to go within te bank, and just send an email to a senior lead and ask them to be your mentor.
