My day-to-day role in Application Management involves dealing with incidents and problems that occur within our applications.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my time so far, I feel the work environment is very supportive as well as the team I work within.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed many skills since starting, such as building my communication skills as well as more technical skills such as SQL, Java, Database building and Splunk to name a few.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel the programme could be a little more organised, I feel there could have been some pointers into trainings that would be most beneficial for the role you started. However the support meetings and the induction proved to be very helpful.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I was lucky enough to be provided with a mentor within my team who showed me the ropes when I first began, he has been very helpful in helping me deal with any issues I encounter or answering general queries I may have
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is some support provided through recurring catch ups, where you can discuss any problems you have faced during your training. During the catch ups you are also given some help for upcoming trainings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There isn't anything I have learned throughout my training just yet that I have managed to apply to my day-to-day role. However as time goes on I believe I will manage to start putting my technical skills to use.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I managed to take part in a volunteering day with my team, where we travelled out to Dumferline and were responsible for planting trees for the full day.

Why?
I feel it is a very inclusive environment to work in, everyone is very supportive especially when you are just starting out. My team didn't pile too much pressure on me straight away, they delegated tasks to me and helped build my confidence.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Show you are willing to work hard and that you are willing to give it your best effort. Don't be afraid to ask questions about things you may not understand, and just be yourself.
