Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I'm a data analyst. I support with performance insight delivery, data visualisation creation, hierarchical changes, stakeholder engagement, and collaborating with other teams to effectively complete tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy learning something new and expanding upon already acquired skills. I see great value in upskilling and being able to both implement said learning into my role to improve my proficiency in role, and to share it with my team to benefit them.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my stakeholder engagement and relationship building, more advanced SQL techniques, and Tableau data visualisation. I've experienced how each team within the department collaborates to achieve our purpose, and different ways of working/learning (with regards to the working from home guidance).

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
With the apprenticeship having a more self-led approach I've found it different to having the onus on me compared to other learning structures, but something I've enjoyed. I have monthly catch-ups with my coach to discuss my progress, and to review classroom learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer are fantastic in offering support that will help me complete my assignments. My manager is great in offering assistance to review essays and provide relevant resources, and I'm allowed sufficient time to complete classroom modules. They are very respectful of my time and my learning commitments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have regular meetings with my coach to gain feedback on submitted assignments and for me to discuss my learnings from classroom units. I'm able to reach out whenever I have a question, and tutors involved in the classroom units are very helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
In my first year I have reinforced my understanding of certain computer programs and completing assignments in a timely fashion. I look forward to the second year which is more technical and in-line with my role where I look to explore my skillset and enhance my technical knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes. My work has a variety of offerings from various employee led groups, learning and development programmes and memberships, health and wellbeing support, staff-led meetups, charity fundraisers, and are always welcome more ideas and opportunities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I strongly believe in the working culture and the direction the company is headed. Employees are encouraged to have constructive discussion and challenge out-dated opinions and bias. There is a great diversity and inclusion awareness, and a belief of championing the potential of its staff.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
There is more opportunity than you believe. If you apply yourself and show your strengths it will be rewarded, and if you want to develop that will certainly be encouraged.
