Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I go to work in the mornings and have calls with my team to discuss the plan for the day. I then go to do my allocated tasks and we usually meet again virtually or in person to catch up. I can ask questions along the day or request information I want.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme because it provides me the flexibility of studying at university and working for a big accounting firm. I enjoy being involved in the audit process of clients and being able to make an impact on the overall final outcome, which is the signing of the audits. When I go back to university I can focus with my exams and qualifications.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to use the software required to do the daily tasks for the job. I learn to communicate better within my team and make time to assist and make questions. I reaffirmed the importance of speaking up and raising points in a team setting.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is overall good constructed, although it could be better. There are people who have a role crucial to the programme that I do not feel comfortable talking to because I don't feel they can assist me or make feel better.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive all the support I need from my employer. Never once did I have an issue with the firm whenever I needed answers to my questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training providers e.g., lecturers, teachers at university have been reaching out to me and ensuring I have a smooth placement even in the months when I am out of university and focused solely on work. My personal tutor has reached out to me on more than one occasion and whenever I reached out to them I always got replies back which was pleasant.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification path links directly to the role I have now as a young trainee in a big accounting firm. The modules I did at university so far are interlinked with the daily life I had as a trainee accountant. There is definetely more to learn though.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are multiple networking events, societies and communities someone can get involved with during placement but I feel this is hard to do because work consumes many hours of the day. It is not impossible and the opportunities exist but I would say not many people I know are taking part in extra-curricular activities.

PwC has a pleasant working environment and that I feel is an important factor in determining where someone should work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Everyone is learning and making mistakes along the way, don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you can and answer with certainty and confidence. Be yourself!
