Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There is a well-defined pathway for the completion of the programme, specifically with the completion of the degree programme (i.e. university, college, assignments, NVQ qualification etc.)
Organisation of placements is left to the apprentices to arrange themselves, allowing them to go to areas most beneficial for their development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
NVQ qualification is supported closely through appointment of a NVQ assessor.
Each trainee is assigned a mentor to provide support and guidance.
Members of staff are approachable at all times to support wherever neccessary.
Training department provide specialist support to resolve any issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Yeovil College have provided continued support throughout the completion of the HNC and HND.
Plymouth University have been exemplary in the way that they have undertaken the degree thus far, with support at every opportunity to ensure we are well-equipped to do well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The completion of the qualification has improved and developed a key range of skills that I have utilised in my job role.
In particular, the development of circuit and control theory has enabled me to understand the way in which electrical circuits function.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The extra-curricular activites at work are the best part of the apprenticeship IMO.
The AWASA committee put on a range of activities for trainees to get involved, including; football, curry nights, quiz nights, yearly dinners etc. There is something there for everybody to enjoy.
