Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On the day-today i participate in a range of tasks, including supporting the insurance brokers within my team with the work load, whilst training further in how to utilise systems and expanding my knowledge in the insurance industry. The tasks i complete are slip work, placement and communications with underwriters and internal departments.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am currently enjoying my programme with there being a great support system and useful tools to utilise on a range of different platforms. I am also finding it to be very helpful in growing my understanding and confidence when undertaking new tasks within my job and helping towards my qualification.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Within my job i have continued to learn personal skills into team working and networking which will pay an important part in my future career and prospects. This is an existing skill that i have built up over different years, however i find the best way to grow as a person is through exposer to now experiences, which AON has been great at helping with!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think there is a good structure to the programme with each apprentice being allocated a coach, who forms the basis of first contact with any issues or questions. There is of course then a layered structure, whereby you can move anything higher if needed, this includes any form of queries.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support within my employer has been fantastic, with them offering assistance and interest in my progress at every stage of the programme so far. They are also very keen for me to achieve the best i can within my programme, with them being noticeably supportive and caring as an employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I am, giving incredible support, being offered as much time and help i need in completing my qualification. I also have monthly calls with my coach, where we can discuss anything needed, or anything thing he feels we need to discuss further. There are also a range of course calls that are held providing additional support in understanding the qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
With every task i undertake in my qualification i find i am able to apply it to my role and make connections in my day-to-day work load. This is proving to be very helpful, especially as i came into the industry with little to no knowledge at all and a school leaver (so one of the youngest in my team).
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a range of extra-curricular activities that are always offered at my work, for instance tonight i am attending a department networking event held in London. This will be a great opportunity for me to build connections and relationships further with my team, and others in my department i would not normally get exposure to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Due to the fantastic experience i have had so far, with everyone being extremely friendly and helpful, i could not recommend it more. I have found the processes i have undertaken to be well managed and clearly thought out in the best ways possible. Join AON is a decision i will never regret taking!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
My best tip for working with AON is to be yourself and not to stress to much about the future, with there being such great opportunities on offer and everyone working towards the same goal. I would definitely say there is a feeling of united front within the business, that creates such a great working environment.
