Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a Commercial Summer Intern, I was tasked with conducting a variety of market research to support my team's account growth in Superdrug.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a great deal of responsibility during my internship. I was supported well and encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone into new learning opportunities. My main responsibility was creating my own project on L'Oreal Paris brand growth in Superdrug stores.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes - I was very quickly able to upscale my excel and powerpoint skills! L'Oreal also has a variety of opportunities to learn outside of the job, including access to courses on Coursera.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I was very well supported during my internship. Although much of my contact was directly with my line manager, my team encouraged me to contact any of them if I had questions. My learning always felt like a priority.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is amazing! Although it was tough to start my job in an almost empty office, everyone is very friendly and inviting!

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my placement. I felt like it was a great opportunity to gain real insight into the industry. I was pleasantly surprised that I was given far more responsibility than I had initially expected. I really felt like part of the team!

What advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal
Try to stand out in the interview process. Research the company so you are well prepared to answer any questions - almost get acclimated to the company before your interview. Also do reach out to those at L'Oreal for support - their help was influential in my application process.
