Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Supporting citizens into employment and removing barriers to work. Providing tailored support through coaching, with empathy and compassion to support citizens through hardship and to gain financial independence through sustaining employment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am enjoying the course and feel I am progressing well. My knowledge is expanding and it is great to reflect on the work I do in my job in the sessions and research projects through examples. I am really happy with my TDO, who supports my learning and ensures to individualise the way they teaches me to make sure it am getting the most from the course, this has been really helpful in my learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
In my current role I have used counselling skills learnt from previous studies which has supported my role. I have been able to develop these skills work with a diverse range of people and situations. I have built confidence in my abilities and regularly support my colleague's and share my knowledge and skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The course is well organised and structured, regular appointments are booked in advance and each session I am given a detailed list of things to complete and prepare for the next session. The sessions are structured really well and work well with my learning style as my TDO has made sure to individualise my learning and meet my learning needs.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive lots of support from my employer. They give us extra time if required to complete apprenticeship work especially now as we are coming towards the end of the apprenticeship. We have lots of encouragement to ensure we are using our time efficiently and getting the most out of our time on apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My TDO is really supportive and always available for support whenever I need. When I have been unsure on something, my TDO has made time to contact me between sessions to clarify. I am really grateful for the support from my TDO and I am aiming for distinction. My TDO is very motivating.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Some of the course content does not relate to my role and I find that I don’t enjoy these projects as much. However, there are many subjects that I am really enjoying as they directly relate to my role as a work coach such as effective communication and industry best practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have regular team meet ups out of work with the team to build on positive relationships. There are also other events however I have not chosen to engage in these.
